Join reenactors and living historians for an encampment at the Caswell Memorial Site as they interpret life in Dobbs County (current day Lenoir County) in 1775. You will see how local North Carolinians reacted to the coming conflict with Great Britain as tensions mounted between the colonists and the King’s government. You will also hear from Richard Caswell, a Colonel in the Dobbs County Militia, and member of the Colonial Assembly, as he discusses the events that are occurring around the colony. There will be musket and canon firing demonstrations, medical programs, and talks on camp life.
