Immerse yourself in the past at Drums of Liberty: Revolutionary War Weekend at Weymouth Center for the Arts & Humanities! Saturday, June 14th and Sunday, June 15th from 10:00am - 4:00pm each day.
Step back in time as we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of James Boyd’s revolutionary war historical fiction Drums, the 250th anniversary of the beginnings of the American Revolution, and the 250th Army Birthday. The weekend program is free and open to the public. Monetary donations are appreciated!
Highlights of the weekend include:
- Interact with the 2nd and 6th North Carolina Regiments at an encampment
- Watch cooking and musket demonstrations
- Learn about diverse and various perspectives of the war
- Hear from historians and community members
- Tour the Boyd House and meet James Boyd
- Shop local vendors
- Create themed children’s crafts
- Try your hand at Block Printing and Quill & Ink writing
- Enjoy 18th century music from Camp Flintlock
