The Avery County Heritage Festival highlights the past. Family historians present genealogy and stories that honor their ancestors. Avery County bands showcase their musical talent and share authentic mountain songs and instruments. There will be craft vendors displaying and selling handmade products. There will also be spinning and beekeeping demonstrations. Overmountain Men Reenactors in period dress will share stories about the march of patriots to Kings Mountain where Patrick Ferguson was defeated during Revolutionary War. Food vendors will be onsite.
