Rayshawn Powell

Rayshawn Powell is a 4th-grade ELA and social studies teacher at Cardinal Charter Academy in Cary. Throughout his 6 years of teaching, he has been striving to reach the whole child and to make learning fun for all students. He is looking forward to this fellowship, where he hopes to deepen his own knowledge so that he can, in turn, deepen the knowledge of his students. He is also excited to discover connections between social studies and ELA strategies to help ensure history isn’t marginalized in the elementary grades.
