Alex Rowe

Kings Mountain High School

Alex Rowe is a high school social studies teacher at Kings Mountain High School in Cleveland County, where he teaches AP US History, American History, and Economics & Personal Finance. His love for history started when he was a boy and is attributed to his father’s military legacy and his mother’s storytelling and inspired teaching. He wants his students to see history come alive and hopes that all students can find connections between themselves and historical figures that they had never considered before.

Alex is a past recipient of Cleveland County's Agape Award for service, compassion, and excellence in education, is a former Teacher of the Year, and serves as a mentor for Special Operations Warrior Foundation's Operation EPIC, which prepares students for the college selection and application process during the summer. Alex is honored to be selected as an America 250 NC Teacher Fellow and is thrilled to learn more about North Carolina's great history with fellow teachers and to bring back the stories and knowledge to his students and community.
